Dustin Johnson – Professional Golfer from USA

Dustin Johnson is a professional golfer from the United States of America, currently a member of the prestigious US PGA Tour.

One of the longest drivers on Tour, Johnson is also the first professional golfer since Tiger Woods to win a title every year for the first seven years since coming out of collegiate golf.

He had a very successful amateur and collegiate career where he represented Coastal Carolina University. In amateur level, Johnson won the prestigious Monroe Invitational as well as the Northeast Amateur tournaments in 2007 and was also a part of the victorious United States teams that won the Walker Cup and the palmer Cup that same year.

He turned professional in 2007 and became a full member of the US PGA Tour in 2008, going on to win his first title as a member of the Tour towards the end of his first full season at the Turning Stone Resort Championship.

A very controversial character on the US PGA Tour, Dustin Johnson has found himself in the public eye for all the wrong reasons on more than one occasion, none more so than in July 2014 when he announced all of a sudden that he would be taking a break from the sport altogether for some time in order to focus on some challenges in his personal life.

It soon emerged that he was actually suspended by the US PGA Tour for six months for testing positive for cocaine in what was his third offence in five years following two earlier ones in 2009 and 2012. However, the officials of the US PGA Tour denied this report and asserted that Dustin Johnson had taken a voluntary leave of absence from the sport and will return to action once the year is out at the beginning of the new season.
