Johnson Makes it to the US Ryder Cup Team

Dustin Johnson is successful to achieve his goal. While playing at TPC Boston, he told that his main goal was to impress the American Ryder Cup team skipper Davis Love so that he could get the opportunity to be a part of the Ryder Cup team. Though Johnson wasn’t able to win the Deutsche Bank Championship, but his performance there took him into Love’s account. The reward came soon when Davis Love announced the name of the four wildcard entries to the US Ryder Cup team and that included Johnson’s name.

The four wildcard holders are Dustin Johnson, Jim Furyk, Steve Stricker and Brandt Snedeker. They will be joined by the eight other normal qualifiers to go to Medinah Country Club to take on the defending champion Europe from September 28 to September 30. Johnson spoke to the media about his inclusion into the team and said that he is quite happy. But at the same time he feels a little shaky.

Johnson was the highest rank holder among the American participants at TPC Boston. He played really well throughout and finished fifth after the last round. He hit a one-under 70 in the last round which secured his place at the top 5 in the Deutsche Bank Championship. Having seen this kind of a performance Davis Love wouldn’t have thought much about Johnson’s selection. Johnson was really under pressure before coming to TPC Boston and he handled that pressure like a true professional.

Dustin Johnson is quite sure of his success in the Ryder Cup as a US Team member. He thinks that helping his team out in any championship games is a duty which he enjoys most. After making his Ryder Cup debut two years back, Johnson will be a part of the US Ryder Cup team for the second time. Now it is time for Johnson to show his nation that Davis Love is spot on in giving him the wildcard.
