Phil Mickelson is a liar, says Chamblee

With Tiger Woods set to be out of action at least till December, Brandel Chamblee has found a new object of scorn in his path in the form of Phil Mickelson, with the analyst for the Golf Channel claiming that the veteran Ryder Cup star should start owning up more about the string of defeats that the United States has suffered in the event in recent years.
The veteran American blasted US Ryder Cup captain Tom Watson for his strategies during the event following the press conference after the event. He also said that Paul Azinger was a much better captain than Watson as he allowed the players to become invested.
The repercussions of those comments made by Mickelson have been widespread with Watson himself saying that there was definitely some communication gap between him and the players and Chamblee blaming everyone from Phil Mickelson from Tiger Woods, despite his absence from the event for the corruption of the entire Ryder Cup experience.
And now, Chamblee, who is known for his outspoken outbursts at players, has called Mickelson a liar.
Chamblee stated that Mickelson had claimed during that press conference that Watson’s players didn’t have a say in the team decision but he knows for a fact that Watson walked with the players and their caddies and asked them who they wanted as their teammates.
So, Chamblee believes that Mickelson was not entirely being truthful with his comments and claimed that Watson went about his captaincy in very much the same way as Paul Azinger had done in 2008.
He also said that these comments by Phil Mickelson makes Watson the scapegoat whereas all the players especially Lefty should be taking responsibility for the string of losses that the United States has suffered in the Ryder Cup over the past couple of seasons.
